ALEX SOLOVIEV is Russia's first electric harmonist. He is the founder and leader of the band “High School”. Over the last ten years he has built his name and won international recognition based on his sheer talent.
Soloviev's love affair with the harmonica began when he heard Pera Joe for the first time back in 2004. He studied under Alexander Bratetsky and later developed his own teaching method, published an audio-guide and founded his own school. He has been influenced by many great harpers such as Chris "Daddy" Dave, Avishai Cohen and Hiatus Kaioyte.
Soloviev's style is rooted in the blues but touches upon harp hop, blues house and shuffle hop. His repertoire includes pieces from famous composers of many different genres.
Soloviev has played at numerous international music festivals and on renowned stages. In 2009 he performed as a session musician at Mud Morganfield´s concerts who is the son of the great Muddy Waters. He was a finalist at the Emporio Music Fest Vocal Contest in 2014 and has performed at the 48th, 49th and 50th Montreux Jazz Festivals with Quincy Jones, Jacob Collier and others.
